Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an EMS Instructor to develop and deliver education for emergency medical services. You will teach through on-site sessions, online, or hybrid formats and collaborate with EMS leadership to update offerings based on quality data.

The role requires current Wisconsin EMS licensure (AEMT, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic) or an Advanced Practice Provider license, plus instructor credentials or eligibility. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin EMS licensure as AEMT, EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic, or Advanced Practice Provider license.
• Current or eligible for reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• American Heart Association BCLS Instructor – current or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• American Heart Association ACLS Provider – current or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supports the organization's mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives.
• Maintains EMS licensure, certifications, continuing education and professional development and stays current in field.
• Utilizes adult learning principles to plan, develop and facilitate EMS education where applicable.
• Provides instruction through on-site, online or hybrid delivery methods.
• Works with EMS Lead Instructor to evaluate, update and revise program offerings.
• Participates in collection of quality improvement data and reports.
• Collects and submits attendance records to EMS coordinator or designee.
• Submits availability to provide instruction for a minimum of 8 classes per quarter.
