Job summary

AMR is hiring an EMS Call Receiver to answer emergency and non-emergency requests, route transportation, and provide clear communication to ensure quality customer care. The role requires a high school diploma, basic medical or dispatch experience, strong English literacy, and the ability to multitask while handling radios, phones, and computer systems.

Starting compensation is $21.65 per hour, with duties including data entry, report generation, and efficient use of all equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimal medical training or telecommunications experience, or at least 1 year as an EMS/public safety dispatcher.
• Reading and writing English.
• Clear radio and telephone communication.
• Accurate recording, transmission and reporting of information.
• Efficient use of all assigned equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good typing skills with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Understands and applies Emergency Medical Dispatch concepts per AMR standards.
• Allocates EMS resources using approved protocols.
• Completes and ensures accuracy of paperwork each shift.
• Performs shift data entry and related reporting.
• Generates applicable reports and verifies accuracy.
• Locates incident scenes and selects the safest, fastest routes.
• Relays instructions from supervisors and emergency information.
• Keeps knowledge of policies, procedures, and memorandums up to date.
• Follows established request-for-service formats and parameters.
• Maintains knowledge and use of equipment (computer, printers, 911 gear, recording devices, phones).
