Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics seeks an EMS Director to lead the Emergency Medical Services department, provide clinical guidance, and ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will oversee department operations, staff development, scheduling, and coordination with hospital leadership. The role requires SD EMS licensure or RN, NREMT, and ongoing instructor qualifications, with responsibilities spanning documentation, training, and disaster drill participation.

Qualifications

• Current South Dakota certification as an Advanced EMT (AEMT) or Paramedic, or SD Registered Nurse licensure.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification as an Advanced EMT or Paramedic, as applicable.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, and PHTLS certifications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain instructor status for CPR and applicable advanced emergency care courses.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting insurability requirements.
• Knowledge of SD EMS laws and regulations (SDCL 36-4B-13 through 36-4B-20).

Responsabilités

• Oversee EMS department operations, ensuring professionalism and high patient care standards.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision of EMS personnel.
• Develop and interpret departmental policies in collaboration with Nursing leadership.
• Prepare and coordinate staff schedules and ambulance coverage.
• Lead staff orientation, ongoing education, and competency oversight.
• Maintain documentation, meeting records, and annual employee evaluations.
• Support recruitment and onboarding with Nursing and HR.
• Provide timekeeping oversight and approval of timecards.
• Operate ambulances during coverage gaps as needed.
• Perform focused histories and assessments for medical and trauma emergencies.
• Deliver advanced medical care using EMS equipment and protocols.
• Coordinate with hospital leadership and other responders on drills and emergencies.
• Ensure equipment, supplies, infection control, and inventory are maintained.
