Job summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners in Rock Hill, SC seeks an experienced Director of EMS to lead the hospital's Emergency Medical Services operations, overseeing regulatory compliance, quality improvement, budgeting, and preparedness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, state paramedic certification, NREMT-P within 6 months, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS; ideal candidates have 5+ years EMS leadership and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Management experience in EMS or a related field.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Current State Paramedic certification/licensure.
• Must obtain National Registry EMT-Paramedic (NREMT-P) certification within 6 months of starting.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational oversight for the Emergency Medical Services department.
• Recruit, train, develop, motivate, and evaluate EMS professionals.
• Plan and oversee training and educational programs for departmental staff.
• Establish departmental goals and communicate expectations across the team.
• Develop and maintain the hospital’s emergency preparedness plan.
• Support Joint Commission readiness and compliance activities.
• Develop and manage the department’s annual operating budget.
• Track departmental expenses and provide ongoing budget performance reporting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
• Advise staff regarding policies, procedures, operational requirements, and performance expectations.
• Support Customer Service and Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and other departments to support organizational objectives.
• Promote a culture of accountability, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
