Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Grades 6-12 to lead instructional planning and deliver personalized learning aligned with IEP goals. The role emphasizes collaboration, PBIS, and differentiated instruction in a dynamic learning environment.

You will design engaging lessons, utilize technology, and coordinate with staff to support diverse learners while maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to families and administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or related field.
• Licensed IL State PEL credential in progress or obtained.
• IL LBS1/SEE credential in progress or obtained.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation in special education settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Grades 6-12 with IEPs.
• Deliver targeted instruction and personalized learning experiences.
• Create lesson plans aligned to state standards.
• Maintain organized, safe classroom and manage resources.
• Document progress and generate reports detailing achievement.
