Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Developmental Specialist to support individuals with mental health needs, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. Schedule is Monday to Friday from 6am to 10am, with sleepover may be required, and travel/transportation support provided as needed.

The role emphasizes person-centered care, advocacy, and collaboration with families and community resources.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Valid driver’s license (USA) is required.
Experience with individuals who have mental health diagnoses or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess individuals’ hopes, dreams, and goals and provide supports to help achieve them.
Help individuals develop community relationships and natural supports.
Assist individuals in participating in their community in line with their interests.
Protect and promote the rights of individuals and support advocacy efforts.
Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
Foster person-centered, positive relationships and promote self-determination.
Contribute to assessment and planning processes and implement individual plans.
Complete required documentation (goal progress, incidents, timesheets, etc.).
Perform daily progress notes and maintain communication logs.
Assist with daily home operations (housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping, lawn care, etc.).
Provide transportation as required and arrange travel for individuals.
Support knowledge of emergency procedures and personal safety.
