Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in an Exceptional Children’s teaching area.
• Ability to develop IEPs and implement specially designed instruction.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and confidentiality skills (FERPA).

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and uses diagnostic information to update IEPs.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for SDI.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Employs varied teaching methods and materials to meet student needs.
• Monitors behavior, maintains classroom discipline, and teaches behavioral strategies.
• Evaluates student work and coordinates progress report grades.
• Attends IEP meetings and collaborates with team members.
• Stays current on trends and best practices in instruction.
