Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to coordinate and deliver services for students with disabilities, implementing IEPs and supporting learning goals.

You will apply specially designed instruction, monitor progress, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliant, effective programming for students with diverse needs in a classroom and school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in an Exceptional Children's teaching area.
• Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to NC requirements.
• First Aid and CPR certifications; CPI certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; implements the IEP and updates as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring to provide specially designed instruction.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Uses varied teaching methods, accommodations, and modifications to meet student needs.
