Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work alongside teachers in supporting students aged 5–21 with autism and emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You will assist with academics, behavior support, and daily living goals, implementing IEPs under guidance and helping students transition between activities in a structured, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• At least three months experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
