Job summary

New Story Schools is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students ages 5–21 with autism and related challenges. You will work with teachers to help students achieve academic and daily living goals, providing direct support, patience, and encouragement in a structured classroom setting.

You will assist with implementing IEPs, tracking progress, and supporting transitions and self-care activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
