Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks an Instructional Aide to join our Special Education team. You will provide personalized support for students in Grades K-12, collaborating with teachers to implement IEPs and tailor instruction to each learner's needs.

In this role, you will supervise students in classroom and community settings, monitor progress, and assist with behavioral interventions, documentation and family communication, while maintaining confidentiality and promoting student

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; basic skills tested.
• Associate degree or higher preferred in education or related field.
• Valid CA driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
• Paraprofessional/teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience assisting in special education or behavioral health settings preferred.
• Strong communication, patience and reliability essential.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a welcoming learning environment.
• Provide individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with teachers on timelines.
• Support students in developing community, vocational, and social skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and data.
• Document behaviors and performance; contribute to behavioral reports.
• Assist with preparation of activity logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with families and administration about student needs and progress.
• Support staff during assurance and accreditation activities.
• Participate in meetings to enhance student outcomes.
