Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Instructional Aide to join its Special Education team, supporting students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. You will collaborate with teachers to implement IEP goals and tailor instruction to each learner’s needs in both classroom and community settings.

You will contribute to creating a supportive, student-centered learning environment, tracking progress, and applying strategies to enhance comprehension and achievement while maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or higher in education preferred.
• Paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Valid CA driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with children with learning disabilities or autism preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a welcoming, high-achieving learning environment.
• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Monitor and support students during lessons, ensuring instructional fidelity.
• Track student progress and communicate outcomes to teachers regularly.
• Support positive behavior with consistent, school-wide strategies.
• Mentor students facing academic challenges and help develop essential skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; provide actionable recommendations.
• Prepare behavioral reports and daily activity logs for staff.
