Job summary

Caretenders, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver treatment and education under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in patients' homes.

The role requires Indiana PTA licensure, a valid driver's license, weekend availability, and a comprehensive benefits package. It offers a rewarding environment focused on caring for patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care; follow plan of care defined by supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports patient response to treatment and changes in condition; coordinates care with healthcare team.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health care team members in therapy within the scope of physical therapy assistant.
• Function in home situations regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
