Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington is seeking a year-round Youth Development Professional Program Lead to plan and run engaging, age-appropriate activities for students in grades 1–5.

You will align activities with program goals, model professional behavior, supervise youth for safety, and collaborate with staff and volunteers. Strong background with youth and ability to pass background checks required; hours vary with school calendar.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ for Elementary Clubs; 21+ for Teen Clubs.
• Background checks (national, SSN verification, local, and sex offender registry) required.
• Prior experience working with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead activities that are fun, age-appropriate, and inclusive.
• Align activities with program goals and outcome areas.
• Use conflict resolution and restorative practices to manage behavior.
• Provide consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement.
• Model respectful, professional behavior and supervision of youth.
• Set and maintain clear behavioral expectations and ensure safety.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Keep spaces clean, organized, and ready for the next day.
• Collaborate with Youth Development Professionals, volunteers, and Club Management.
• Work with youth in grades 1–5 to support positive development and engagement.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
