Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County is seeking a Youth Development Professional to support and implement quality programs for youth ages 5–18. Under the Unit Director, you will help create a safe, engaging environment that promotes academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character.

Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising youth per WA DCYF standards, coordinating supplies, leading sports, STEM, arts and crafts, and ensuring safety and cleanliness of the club.

Qualifications

  • Sixteen (16) years of age or older; eighteen (18) preferred for DCYF supervision requirements.
  • Highschool Diploma, GED, or actively enrolled preferred.
  • Ability to remain positive and organized in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to incorporate organizational values fun, respect, integrity, community, and acceptance into all practices.
  • Prior experience working with youth or background in youth development preferred.
  • Flexibility to work different hours based on seasonal and operational needs.
  • Ability to pass a drug test upon hire.
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with BGCSC standards and meet all state licensing requirements upon hire.
  • Ability to motivate youth and support positive behavior guidance.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Director in planning and implementing activities that provide belonging.
  • Manage program supplies and equipment.
  • Engage youth in sports, STEM, and arts and crafts.
  • Supervise youth in accordance with WA DCYF and BGCSC standards.
  • Participate in active, engaged supervision for all members.
  • Prepare snacks for members with food safety practices.
  • Support members' behavior using social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices.
  • Work with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ensure safety and engagement, following BGCSC policies.
  • Maintain club organization and cleanliness.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Complete required training and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned by Unit Director.
