Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County in Mukilteo, WA seek a Youth Development Professional to support and implement quality programs for youth ages 5–18. Under the Unit Director, you’ll help create an safe, fun environment and advance three outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship.

Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising according to DCYF and BGCSC standards, preparing snacks, promoting positive behavior, and maintaining a clean,

Qualifications

• Sixteen years of age or older; eighteen preferred for DCYF supervision.
• Highschool Diploma, GED, or actively enrolled preferred.
• Remain positive and organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Incorporate BGCSC values: fun, respect, integrity, community, acceptance.
• Prior experience with youth or youth development preferred.
• Flexibility to work seasonal and operational hours.
• Pass a drug test on hire.
• Pass a background check per BGCSC standards and licensing.
• Motivate youth and support positive behavior guidance.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Director in planning and implementing activities for members.
• Assist with managing program supplies and equipment.
• Engage youth in physical activities like sports, STEM, and arts/crafts.
• Supervise youth in accordance with DCYF and BGCSC standards.
• Participate in active and engaged supervision of all members.
• Prepare snacks for members while following food safety practices.
• Support member behavior using social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices.
• Work with diverse youth backgrounds.
• Ensure safety and engagement, upholding BGCSC policies.
• Create positive and supportive relationships with youth.
• Uphold BGCSC Cultural DNA guidelines.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the club and spaces.
• Maintain equipment and supplies upkeep.
• Complete and maintain required training and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Unit Director.
