Job summary

The Christman Company is seeking a Project Manager to join our team for large-scale commercial projects in the Central Michigan region. This employee-owner role involves coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors to manage scope, timetables, budgets, and change control.

You will lead project planning, staffing, bid packaging, and risk assessment, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while aligning with our values of teamwork and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role reflecting progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in Construction Management, Project Management, Safety, or Communication or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with owners, architects, and subcontractors regarding project risk, timetables, costs/budgets, and change management.
• Determine and define scope of work and deliverables for each project phase.
• Establish staffing requirements and create a work plan and schedules for each phase.
• Prepare project manuals, bid package components, and other documents for bidding.
• Manage the CM bid process including post-bid reviews.
• Lead trade contractor relations and ensure safety, scheduling, and quality standards.
• Coordinate project planning services (estimating, scheduling, value engineering, reporting).
• Oversee documentation and delivery of contract-related information, change orders, and tracking.
