Job summary

The Christman Company is seeking a Project Superintendent in the greater Lansing, Michigan area to oversee field operations on commercial construction projects. You will work with the Project Manager and trade partners to plan work, ensure safety, quality and schedule, and manage daily reports, submittals, and inspections.

Qualifications

• Required degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Minimum five years of commercial construction leadership experience (Foreman or Superintendent).
• Formal training in Construction/Project Management, Safety, or Communication.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Review constructability, phasing options, site logistics, and field construction issues; evaluate options for efficiency.
• Establish site safety, quality, unforeseen conditions, housekeeping, and conduct expectations.
• Plan and coordinate site logistics, traffic patterns, equipment locations, and staging.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and trade contractors to develop work plans and prep for progress meetings.
• Oversee timely initiation, momentum, and completion of trade work per the project schedule.
• Prepare daily progress reports, weather, safety inspections, and potential issues.
