Job summary

Scotty’s Contracting and Stone is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Heavy Civil Division. This safety-sensitive role operates a variety of large construction equipment, including Loaders, Backhoes, Track Hoes, Haul Trucks, and Water Trucks.

General labor tasks include shoveling, sweeping, maintenance, and assisting with mechanical work under a Foreman’s direction. Three years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and a strong safety mindset are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience performing similar responsibilities.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to minimize risk.
• Take direction from foreman for assignments and duties.
• Perform minor servicing or refer major problems to Foreman/Shop Manager.
• Maintain awareness of site conditions and report hazards promptly.
• Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
• Complete required incident reports and site logs as per standards.
• Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Perform other physical tasks to maintain the job site.
