WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Director of Sales is responsible for new insurance account production and sales activities within assigned accounts. The role involves market research, developing a business base, educating, promoting, and selling insurance services, maintaining existing client relationships, and projecting a professional image in all interactions.

A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY

  • Achieve annual revenue goals through consultative sales and expanding service lines.
  • Demonstrate industry thought leadership and engagement.
  • Develop and execute a sales plan with a pipeline coverage ratio aligned with company metrics.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Document all sales activities and outcomes accurately.
  • Close new business effectively, recording opportunities and reasons for wins/losses.
  • Provide consultative recommendations to clients.
  • Identify and assess client risks and needs.
  • Assist clients with technical services like loss control and claims advocacy.
  • Transition clients smoothly to account management teams.
  • Build strategic relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Provide market and competitor insights to leadership.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, competitive spirit, and sense of humor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE

  • Life and Health License required and must be maintained.
  • Minimum of 2+ years sales experience in insurance, focusing on Employee Benefits.
  • College degree preferred, especially with Risk Management experience.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills for various formats.
  • Deep understanding of employee benefits coverage.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of insurance markets, products, and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks independently and within a team.
