Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality, direct patient care in a team-based model and to support administrative and clinical operations. The Medical Assistant collaborates with clinicians to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.

The role includes vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and immunizations, with a focus on health coaching, data gathering, PHI safety, and effective use of the EHR to support billing and care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in Health Science preferred.
• 0-1 years related experience; MA competencies within one year of hire.
• Basic familiarity with computers and basic web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Develops empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues to support patient care.
• Assists patients during visits: manages flow, communicates delays, updates lists, reviews screening questions.
• Communicates clearly with patient and team; hands off to provider with visit context.
• Performs MA duties under supervision: vitals, height/weight, EKGs, POCT, phlebotomy, immunizations.
• Leads outreach to meet population health goals and monitors practice activity.
