Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support care delivery across ambulatory settings. Under supervision, you will perform direct patient care, assist with procedures, and help coordinate care while maintaining an efficient daily workflow.

You will room patients, document vitals, assist with EKGs and specimen collection, and ensure clean exam rooms. Strong emphasis on teamwork, accuracy in EMR, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• 0-1 years of related experience in patient care in a healthcare setting preferred or associate's degree or higher in lieu of Medical Assistant experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire or per department requirement.
• Medical Assistant (Certified), EMT, CNA, or LNA certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare patients for visits; take and document vital signs and intake information.
• Support clinical procedures (e.g., EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing).
• Maintain clean, stocked, and ready exam rooms throughout the day.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR per clinical guidelines.
• May assist with scheduling, check-in, referrals, and patient instructions.
• Communicate with providers, patients and team about delays, needs, or follow-ups.
• Follow workflows, safety protocols, infection control standards and department guidelines.
