Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant in Watertown, MA to provide high quality patient care within a team-based primary care setting. You will assist during visits, take vitals, perform EKGs, immunizations, phlebotomy, and help with population health outreach.

The role requires strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with diverse patients. Light to moderate physical tasks are involved, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and efficient clinic

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred.
• Medical Assistant competencies within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develops long term empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
• Assists patient over the course of their visit: facilitates timely flow and informs patient and provider of delays.
• Communicates clearly with patient and team: provides hand-off to provider entering the exam room.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision: obtaining vitals, height/weight, EKGs, point of care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations, and assisting during routine procedures.
• Leads conversations to meet population health goals through outreach and health coaching.
• Monitors equipment, maintains area, ensures PHI is used appropriately.
• Queues prescription renewals in EHR and documents during visit for billing.
