Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health Primary Care in Brookline, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant for per diem day shifts to provide high-quality direct patient care in a team-based setting. You will support administrative and clinical operations and document visits to ensure accurate billing.

Responsibilities include managing patient flow, taking vitals, EKGs and phlebotomy, assisting with immunizations, and coordinating care with the provider team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Health Science preferred.
• 0-1 years related MA experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant/ CMA or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during visits: take vitals, height, weight, and review screening questions.
• Perform ECGs, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, and assist with immunizations as certified.
• Maintain equipment, sterilize supplies, and ensure PHI is secure and properly accessed.
• Queue prescriptions in EHR and assist with orders for tests and appointments.
• Schedule tests and verify insurance, including prior authorizations and referrals.
• Document visit activities for accurate billing and care coordination.
