Job summary

Waystone Health & Human Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Haverhill, MA. The role involves assisting four individuals with daily living activities, safety checks, and transportation using wheelchair vans in a group home setting.

The position offers non-exempt compensation at $21.63 per hour and requires MAP and CPR/First Aid certifications, a valid driver's license, and English literacy. Opportunities for growth and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
• CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
• Experience in providing training, case management and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal hygiene assistance (toileting/brief changing), bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
• Able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair accessible company vans.
• Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) and maintain daily logs and track behavioral data.
• Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirecting behaviors.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program; uphold residents' rights and confidentiality.
