Job summary

Waystone Health & Human Services in Methuen, MA is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide daily living assistance, companionship, and transportation in a group home setting. The role can be part-time or full-time, with weekend and evening shifts, including overnight options.

You will support six individuals with ADLs, document care, assist with medications under supervision, and maintain safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to follow care plans and document services.
• Experience providing training, case management and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• MAP Certification; Waystone provides training to acquire it within 6 months of employment.
• CPR/First Aid training; Waystone provides training to acquire it within 3 months of employment.
• Valid Driver’s License with at least 1 year of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as hygiene, feeding, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair accessible company vans.
• Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) and daily logs; track behavioral data.
• Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirecting behaviors.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
• Uphold individuals’ rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
