Job summary

Waystone Health & Human Services in Haverhill, MA, seeks a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with daily living activities and transportation in a residential setting.

The role includes taking part in sleep shifts, completing ISP notes, and providing personal care while ensuring dignity and confidentiality. Training in MAP and CPR/First Aid is provided, with opportunities for growth and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to follow care plans.
• Experience providing care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings.
• MAP certification; Waystone offers training within 6 months of employment.
• CPR/First Aid training offered within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities (hygiene, feeding, dressing, grooming).
• Transport individuals using wheelchair-accessible vans to appointments or activities.
• Complete ISP and daily logs, track behavioral data.
• Assist with medication administration and documentation.
• Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirect challenging behaviors.
• Maintain a clean, safe residential environment and uphold residents' rights.
