Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervising employees, staffing, inventory, stocking, and paperwork. This limited-period role develops external candidates for the Store Manager track.

Key duties include merchandising, inventory accuracy, daily cash handling, and ensuring safe, well-stocked stores. You will help manage opening/closing, reporting, and compliance with company policies during the transition period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail or store operations preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and inventory management.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and handling.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations support.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements and manage expenses and shrink.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
