Job summary

Walmart in Auburn, AL is seeking an Emerging Store Manager (ESM) to develop across store operations with a clear path to Store Manager. The role emphasizes merchandising, people leadership, financial management, and community engagement in preparation for senior leadership.

The program lasts 12–18 months and requires mobility within the assigned region for future placement and application to Store Manager roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, retail management, financial management and 2 years' experience in a management role within a retail, operations, or distribution environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring and developing managers/supervisors.
2 years' general management experience, including responsibility for financial accountability.
For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific CBC and Firearms Authorized Training.

Responsibilities

Develop store operations across merchandising, people leadership, financial management, customer experience and community engagement.
Assist in leading the store's management team and implementing store objectives.
Monitor expenditures against budget and analyze reports to forecast performance.
Ensure effective merchandise presentation, pricing, signing, and stock levels.
Lead staffing plans, talent pipelines and succession planning.
