Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an entry-level Leadership Development Professional to pursue a career in Safety Management at the Dierks Lumber facility in Arkansas. The role focuses on growing safety leadership skills through hands-on learning, with mentorship from the Safety Manager and Mill Manager.

You will contribute to safety programs, audits, and incident investigations while preparing for a future safety department assignment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline.
• Willingness to adapt to strong safety culture and ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
• 2 years experience working in health & safety.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Willingness to relocate outside of the region for position opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring safety programs and procedures to ensure personnel and facility safety.
• Assist with the facilitation of Safety Training for associates (Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Response, and other annual required training).
• Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring to ensure workplace exposures remain within Federal and company exposure limits.
• Support the Health & Safety Manager and team leaders in implementing and executing the Health & Safety Management system.
• Organize and participate in safety audits and inspections as needed.
• Assist with Paired Safety Observation (PSO) program execution and work with team leaders to complete PSOs.
• Assist with incident investigations and inspections of procedures, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain detailed records through online documentation, electronic databases and SharePoint files.
• Mentor the Safety Committee and its functions to add value to the safety culture.
• Encourage employee involvement in safety and promote a caring safety culture.
