Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking recent college graduates for a full-time entry level Leadership Development Professional (LDP) opportunity at the Elkin OSB mill in North Carolina. You will participate in a detailed 12-month development plan with hands-on learning, operational rotations, and mentoring to build leadership and manufacturing knowledge.

The successful candidate will transition to a subsequent role aligned with business needs after completing the program, with emphasis on safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Wood Science, Engineering or related field or on track to graduate by June 2027.
• Eager to learn about wood product production processes regardless of experience.
• Willing to relocate as next role may be at another facility.
• Ability to deliver workable, value-added solutions to real manufacturing problems.
• Strong communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative team player with initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willing to travel within the US; knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Working safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Systematically identify and implement improvement initiatives.
• Perform mill-wide studies/trials.
• Provide support in the development of standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve quality and production issues.
• Train employees on a structured approach to problem solving.
• Maintain calibration of process equipment to assure standards are met.
