Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to partner with the project manager from bid through final client acceptance. You will lead, coach, and mentor project team members. The first assignment is in New Mexico with potential move to Denver after project completion.

The role requires five years of related experience, a construction-related degree, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and a willingness to travel up to 100% as needed. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Minimum five years of related previous experience
• Current driver’s license
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple project tasks
• Understanding of construction law and general business practices
• Proficient in MS Office and project-related web applications

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management
• Coordinate scopes of work and assist with estimates and scheduling
• Review pay applications, change requests, and other financial docs
• Draft client proposals and manage contracts
• Lead subcontractor buyout and manage field team performance
• Ensure safety and timely project completion on site
