Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Waldorf, MD is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to build leadership skills and drive club performance in designated departments. The program trains you for one of three tracks—Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience—and includes onboarding, certification, and hands‑on leadership.

You will serve as Manager on Duty when needed, oversee daily operations, and develop talent to ensure a premium member experience while maintaining club standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people development abilities.
• Knowledge of store operations, membership, and omni-channel procedures.
• High school diploma and/or college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership with accountability for assigned areas.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and certify team members to build capable clubs.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling aligned with forecasts and budgets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink reduction across departments.
• Model GAA, GOLD, and LAST service standards in daily operations.
• Ensure compliance, safety, audits, and training across the club.
