Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Bowie, MD is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to lead departments, develop talent, and uphold GOLD standards. You will work closely with the Club Manager and rotate through Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience tracks.

This role requires ServSafe certification, forklift qualification, and a commitment to execution, customer service, and continuous improvement across club operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead large teams and motivate.
• Forklift operation and safety knowledge.
• Certified in ServSafe food safety.
• High school diploma or college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience.
• Recruit, Hire, and Onboard Team Members with certification requirements.
• Oversee Labor Planning and Scheduling to align with budgets.
• Drive Sales, Inventory Control, and Shrink Management across departments.
• Champion Member Experience standards: GAA, GOLD, and service quality.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, OSHA, and policies.
• Operate equipment safely (Forklift) as required.
• Maintain regular attendance and leadership coverage across shifts.
