Job summary

WSP USA seeks an Early Career Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New England, with offices in Boston, Worcester, Glastonbury, Merrimack and Providence.

This entry-level role offers a 50/50 split between fieldwork and office work, with opportunities to learn AutoCAD, assist load ratings, and contribute to safe transportation projects across the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
0–1 years of post-education experience in bridge/tunnel or related work.
Demonstrated interest in structures/transportation field.
Ability to perform field work including at heights, in adverse weather.
50% field and 50% office work expectation.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection projects.
Work as team member on bridge, tunnel, and ancillary inspections.
Assist in preparation of bridge and tunnel load ratings.
Assist development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
Support cross-functional project execution.
Develop technical, social, and ethical skills on projects.
Learn basic principles of bridge and transportation engineering.
Assist with field work, research, and preliminary design calculations.
Support preparation of cost proposals and scopes of work.
