Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Bridge Inspection, Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New England, with offices in Boston, Worcester, Glastonbury, Merrimack and Providence. You will work on a variety of inspection projects, developing plans and sketches using AutoCAD while gaining hands-on field experience and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This entry-level role emphasizes safety, professional growth, and exposure to transportation engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience in bridge, tunnel or ancillary inspection, design and/or other infrastructure related work.
• Demonstrated interest in structures, transportation or related field and desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
• Physically capable of performing continuous field work, including heights, adverse weather, and night work.
• This position may be 50% in the field and 50% in the office.
• Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check and a valid Driver’s License.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.

Responsibilities

• Work with our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection-related projects.
• Collaborate as a team member on Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary Inspections.
• Assist in preparing Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
• Assist with development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Support cross-functional teams in executing project work.
• Participate in project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
