Job summary

VEG for Pets in Cary, NC is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line team. You'll work with doctors and the VEG team delivering fast, compassionate care during emergencies, including triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice required; VTS in ECC/AN or anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software/EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support during emergencies from triage to discharge.
• Perform anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing as part of a collaborative team.
• Utilize diagnostics and imaging, sample collection, and tube placement as needed.
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to formulate and adapt care plans.
• Maintain a compassionate, people-centric approach for clients during stressful moments.
