Job summary

VEG is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Washington. You will join a fast-paced team delivering gold standard, emotionally intelligent care on the front lines of veterinary emergencies.

Responsibilities include triage, treatments, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while staying compassionate for pet parents in stressful moments. Requires AVMA-accredited credential and 1+ year experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or higher in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician in the state the VEG practice is located.
• VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia is a plus.
• 1+ years of veterinary technician experience; emergency experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support.
• Participate in triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and medications.
• Communicate effectively with team and guide care plans.
• Perform CPR when needed as part of RECOVER-certified team.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubes.
• Assist anesthesia for fragile patients.
• Utilize advanced techniques as available (central lines, ultrasound).
