Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group is seeking a Nursing Trainer to lead emergency medicine training across VEG hospitals. You will coach, mentor, and develop skills, building confidence and careers in veterinary emergency medicine.

Expect 1:1 floor mentoring, peer-led sessions, and creation of educational tools. You’ll tailor programs to diverse learning styles, celebrate milestones, and travel to VEG hospitals regionally to onboard new veterinarians.

Qualifications

• Must have high level knowledge and skill in emergency medicine.
• Experience in training or teaching others is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams are essential.
• Willingness to travel to other VEG hospitals for onboarding and training.

Responsibilities

• Partner with hospital leadership to identify training needs.
• Assess assistants and credentialed technicians through observation.
• Lead VEG Cultivate program advancement.
• Implement training programs and act as the training lead.
• Split time between on-the-floor mentoring and strategic development.
• Deliver tailored, hands-on training for all learning styles.
• Organize peer training opportunities and mentoring culture.
• Collaborate with nursing managers to broaden impact.
• Develop and refine training content (presentations, videos, simulations).
• Ensure training aligns with VEG culture and emergency standards.
• Evaluate and improve leveling programs for staff.
