Job summary

VEG is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to empower a team of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants in our fast-paced emergency hospitals. You’ll lead with empathy, grow skills, and keep care quality high while maintaining team morale and a patient-centered culture.

As a key leader, you will mentor staff, collaborate with hospital leadership, manage schedules, and ensure smooth operations across shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a clinical veterinary nursing or technician role.
• A focus on developing leadership skills.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, lift up to 25 kg and work on the floor.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor credentialed veterinary technicians and assistants at all levels.
• Address team issues with clarity and care, protecting patients and staff.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on performance, feedback, and planning.
• Design and maintain hospital flow reflecting VEG's patient-centered approach.
• Address customer concerns in real-time and partner on lasting solutions.
• Keep people and pets together, supported, and cared for during visits.
• Manage nursing schedules, PTO requests, and daily coverage needs.
• Guide team utilization to meet operational and development goals.
• Lead team huddles and meetings to keep everyone aligned and inspired.
• Collaborate across leadership to ensure smooth hospital operations.
