Job summary

VEG is seeking a Per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team in North Carolina. You’ll work closely with doctors and a dedicated crew, handling triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing to deliver compassionate, gold-standard care for both pets and their families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited vet tech degree preferred.
• CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT certification in the state of practice required; VTS in ECC/anesthesia is a plus.
• 1+ year experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Able to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg; work in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to deliver gold-standard care.
• Assist with CPR and emergency procedures as needed.
• Utilize tools like IVs, CRIs, blood products, and imaging as required.
