Job summary

VEG is hiring Veterinary Nursing Shift Leads to oversee shift rhythm, ensure top-tier patient care, and support VEGgies on the floor. You own flow, training, and mentorship, balancing empathy with accountability in a fast-paced ER environment.

Ideal candidates bring CVT/RVT/LVMT credentials or enrollment in VEG Credentialing Support, plus 1+ year of emergency or specialty experience. Night, weekend, and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as veterinary technician or assistant, emergency or specialty setting preferred.
• Strong clinical workflow understanding and team dynamics.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient status and shift needs in clear view.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot during emergencies.
• Assign and adapt shift roles with clarity and care.
• Assist on the floor; no task is too small.
• Lead breaks, coaching, and wrap-ups at shift end.
• Coordinate transitions and team huddles.
• Direct questions and elevate key issues clearly.
• Turn downtime into learning moments for the team.
