Job summary

MedVet in Commerce, CA is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Doctor Coordinator to support our ER doctors and manage workflow on busy shifts. You will assist with scheduling, client communication, and chart documentation to ensure high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have prior veterinary experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting. This full-time role requires flexibility in hours and a collaborative team mindset.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a given shift and may support different doctors.
• Ensures follow through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s).
• Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics.
• Delegates team responsibilities and mentors team members as needed.
• Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries if the doctor is unavailable.
• Prepares and maintains medical record documentation and related letters for doctor review.
• Monitors emails and voicemails for doctor(s).
• Assists with outpatient procedures and specimen collection as required.
