Job summary

MedVet, a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider, seeks an Emergency Veterinary Doctor Coordinator and Veterinary Assistant to support doctors during shifts, manage workflow, and coordinate consults and diagnostics in a fast-paced hospital.

You will handle client communication, assist with outpatient procedures, and help mentor team members while upholding our Teamwork, Leadership, and Compassion core values.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Previous emergency experience desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a given shift and may support different doctors.
• Ensures follow through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s).
• Collaborates on scheduling consults, transfers, and diagnostics.
• Delegates team responsibilities and mentors team members as appropriate.
• Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries when doctors are unavailable.
• Provides departmental client communication for cases and care plans when needed.
• Drafts medical record documentation and initial patient histories for doctor review.
• Monitors emails and voicemails for doctor(s) and assists with outpatient procedures.
