Job summary

The Salvation Army Family Haven Shelter in St. Louis, Missouri seeks an Emergency Social Services Case Manager to provide intake, assessment, and Pathway of Hope services. You will help clients with food, utility, rent, and other basic needs, and liaise with community resources to maximize support.

This full-time exempt position offers a starting salary of $41,000 and requires collaboration with shelter staff to develop action plans, monitor progress, and document client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services with 1 year of related work experience, including supervisory exposure.
• Must have outgoing personality with strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse cultures.
• Strong leadership style and good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake, assessment, and services to ESS clients and manage Pathway of Hope services.
• Network with community agencies and referral resources to benefit clients.
• Pre-screen, set goals, and conduct follow-up meetings with clients.
• Input client information into SIMS and maintain records timely.
• Provide on-site and outreach assistance and determine client eligibility for resources.
• Distribute food, vouchers, and checks and refer to other agencies when needed.
• Maintain a current community resource guide and liaison with The Salvation Army and partners.
