Job summary

Centerboard Inc is seeking Direct Care Staff to provide on-site assistance in the Emergency Assistance (EA) Housing Program. This part-time role (16 hours/week) covers Saturday and Sunday 8 AM–4 PM, supporting daily shelter operations, responding to family concerns, and upholding safety procedures.

A high school diploma or GED is required with preferred experience in housing services. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
Two years in housing services, residential programs, or public contact.
Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of common areas.
Remain awake, alert, and available to respond during shifts; avoid appearing asleep.
Document shift information in the log and incident reports.
Complete rounds indoors and outdoors each shift.
Report maintenance requests and contact on-call maintenance as required.
Assist families arriving for shelter placement and manage sign-in/out procedures.
De-escalate conflicts and report significant incidents to a supervisor.
Monitor security systems and communicate shift information via email, phone, or written notes.
Assist with safety drills and participate in program evacuations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
