Centerboard Inc. is seeking a Direct Care Staff member to provide on-site assistance to residents in the Emergency Assistance (EA) Housing Program and support safe, orderly shelter environments.

You will assist with daily shelter operations, respond to family concerns, and follow program safety procedures. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and the ability to relate to people. Training in Orientation, OSHA, HIPAA and CPR & First Aid is provided.

Formación

• High school diploma/GED or some college preferred.
• Two years’ experience working in housing services, residential programs or public contact.
• Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
• Able to relate to people; written and verbal communication skills.
• Centerboard training in Orientation, OSHA, HIPAA and CPR & First Aid and any other related training offered and deemed necessary.
• Must know how to use Microsoft Outlook including email, word and excel.
• Basic understanding of other computer applications for data entry is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain the cleanliness of common areas.
• Remain awake, alert, and available to respond throughout the shift, and avoid behavior that gives the appearance of sleeping.
• Complete hourly indoor and outdoor rounds during each shift.
• Document shift information in the Communication Log in MY EVOLV.
• Complete shift information and any incident reports for each shift.
• Report any maintenance requests and contact emergency maintenance as required.
• Receive new families arriving for shelter placement as needed.
• Ensure families keep common areas and hallways free from all personal belongings.
• Maintain keys for units in the locked key box.
• Ensure visiting guidelines are adhered to.
• Monitor entry and exit points; ensure sign-in/out procedures and safety protocols are followed.
• De-escalate minor conflicts or disagreements between shelter families and report significant incidents to the supervisor on duty or on call.
• Monitor the security system and report any issues or specific concerns.
• Communicate relevant program and shift information through email, phone and written means of communication.
• Clean units once families exit the shelter.
• Assess any maintenance issues reported by families after hours by entering the affected units and thereafter contact the landlord or Centerboard’s maintenance crew.
• Verify the laundry lockbox cash through a double count with staff from the previous shift and report any discrepancies to a supervisor immediately.
• Respond to emergencies in accordance with program safety procedures and support evacuation drills so families understand safety procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
