Centerboard is seeking a Part-Time Direct Care Staff I to support the Emergency Assistance housing program in Salem, MA. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean shelter environment and assisting families with daily shelter operations.

The position requires strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills, with a valid driver’s license preferred. Training in orientation, OSHA, HIPAA and CPR/First Aid is provided by Centerboard.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma/GED; some college preferred.
• Two years’ experience in housing services or related fields.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Must complete Centerboard training (Orientation, OSHA, HIPAA, CPR & First Aid).
• Proficiency with MS Outlook; basic knowledge of other MS Office apps.

Responsabilités

• Maintain cleanliness of common areas.
• Remain awake, alert and responsive during shift.
• Complete hourly indoor and outdoor rounds.
• Document shift information in MY EVOLV and incident reports.
• Report maintenance requests and contact maintenance as needed.
• Assist new families arriving for shelter placement.
• Monitor entry/exit points and ensure sign-in/out procedures.
• De-escalate conflicts and report significant incidents.
• Monitor security system and report issues.
• Communicate program and shift information via email, phone or written notes.
• Clean units after families exit the shelter.
• Assist with after-hours maintenance checks and coordinate with landlords/maintenance.
• Record laundry lockbox cash and report discrepancies.
