Job summary

UMass Memorial Health’s Memorial Campus in Worcester seeks a Patient Care Tech III to support the Emergency Department during evening hours. The role emphasizes patient safety, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and telemetry monitoring under licensed staff supervision.

The ideal candidate will have Basic Life Support, a high school diploma or GED, and relevant acute care experience, with strong English communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• 1 year of acute care/hospital experience or 1 year of EMT Paramedic experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Conduct constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility.
• Take and record vital signs and head-to-toe assessments.
• Assist in treatments and procedures with proper sterile technique.
• Maintain patient safety and de-escalate situations as needed.
• Support nursing staff with unit secretary duties when required.
