Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. The role uses the nursing process from admission to discharge, emphasizing patient assessment, care planning, and education for patients and families.

You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care and participate in continuous improvement efforts. A sign-on bonus may be available for external hires.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification required for every RN unless ACLS is current, in addition to unit certifications.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process for patient care from admission to discharge, appropriate to patient age.
• Assess patients and develop/coordinate plans of care including discharge planning.
• Administer medications, perform treatments and assist physicians as required.
• Ensure quality of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Participate in governance and quality improvement initiatives.
